Beabadoobee
What a pleasure it has been to witness Beabadoobee growing up. Born in the Philippines and raised in London, Beatrice Laus first emerged in 2017 as a teenager with brightly-coloured hair, recording lo-fi pop songs in her bedroom. Now 24 years old, Beabadoobee has swapped her bedroom for Rick Rubin’s legendary Shangri-La studios and has brand new a #1 album on her hands. The meticulously crafted This is How Tomorrow Moves, described by The Guardian as having “hornet-level buzz”, is a glorious collection of pop-rock songs about the messy reality of adulthood. For someone who claims to still be figuring it out, Beabadoobe has never sounded so self-assured. Saying farewell to her beloved, internet-famous cats Kimchi and Miso for two weeks in February, Beabadoobee will perform exclusively at Laneway Festival 2025.
