St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival has officially wrapped up for 2016, and it may have been one of our favourites yet! Check out our wrap up video of the festival run.
Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle festivals completely sold-out prior to the events, with Adelaide having more than doubled its crowd numbers since 2015, making it the most successful year to date.
We also saw improvements in each location with louder stages, better shading, more utilities, food, beverage and market options, artist vinyl signings at local record stalls and easier methods of transport to and from the venues. triple j brought their live broadcast of the event to Adelaide, giving audiences outside of the city a chance to tune in to the full day of live performances and interviews with their favourite artists. Less than 24 hours after playing Laneway Fremantle, Thundercat went on to collect a Grammy award for his work with Kendrick Lamar for collaborative track ‘These Walls’.
The festival would like to thank all the local councils; all local and national media outlets present (with special thanks to our partners triple j and FasterLouder); our valued sponsors; the local artists, market
holders and vendors whose input contributed greatly to the festival experience; the incredible artists who continue to inspire us well after the festival is over and most of all, we would like to thank all the music lovers for making it down.
