Friends! We are excited to reveal the key dates of the thirteenth edition of the St. Jeromes Laneway Festival. The party - which stops at Singapore, Brisbane, Melbourne, Auckland, Adelaide, Sydney and Fremantle - starts a little earlier this year, read on for details...
With its unique and storied history, Laneway prides itself on being more than the average festival experience. We've got an astute eye for the next big thing, we love good food, local art and epic locations, and we're so excited to share what we have in store for you at Laneway in 2017.
LINE UP WILL BE ANNOUNCED WEDNESDAY, 14 SEPTEMBER - STAY TUNED!
SINGAPORE: SATURDAY 21 JANUARY - THE MEADOW, GARDENS BY THE BAY
Coming in hot for the fifth year running, Laneway returns to Singapore this 2017. We love the Meadow at Gardens by the Bay - with a backdrop ft. the iconic Marina Bay Sands, lush green hills and a panorama of Singapore’s downtown cityscape, this spot is nothing short of world class.
BRISBANE: THURSDAY 26 JANUARY - BRISBANE SHOWGROUNDS, BOWEN HILLS (16+)
We’re hitting up Brisbane Showgrounds on the first home stop of the Laneway tour, bringing the party back to the bustling heart of Fortitude Valley. For the first time, Brisbane’s leg of Laneway falls on a public holiday. We would like to acknowledge the First Australians and traditional custodians of the land on which our special event takes place, both in Brisbane and all across the country.
MELBOURNE: SATURDAY 28 JANUARY - FOOTSCRAY COMMUNITY ARTS CENTRE (FCAC) AND THE RIVER’S EDGE
With streets and laneways that reference the festival’s humble beginnings, we keep on comin’ back to Footscray Community Arts Centre and The River’s Edge. Following the banks of the Maribyrnong river across to the city skyline, Laneway Festival is right at home in Melbourne’s cultural melting pot.
AUCKLAND: MONDAY 30 JANUARY
It’s a secret! Stay tuned.
ADELAIDE: FRIDAY 3 FEBRUARY - HARTS MILL, PORT ADELAIDE (16+)
[Rad]elaide, you wowed us last year with huge record-breaking numbers and bets are on for 2017 when we return to Hart’s Mill in Port Adelaide. Each year in February this markedly historic site takes on a new form of life, as Laneway lovers gather down by the breezy Port River.
SYDNEY: SATURDAY 4 FEBRUARY - SYDNEY COLLEGE OF THE ARTS (SCA), ROZELLE
We’re bringing the party back to Sydney College of the Arts for the penultimate stop on the Laneway tour! Conveniently located in the city’s Inner West, we’re pretty lucky to call this unique location home. Spread out across Callan Park, the stages are nestled between historic sandstone and a crisp sounding natural amphitheater. We rate it A+.
FREMANTLE: SUNDAY 5 FEBRUARY - ESPLANADE RESERVE AND WEST END
Last stop on the tour circuit sees Laneway 2017 wrap up in the heart of Fremantle – in between the historic and charming cobblestone alleyways of Freo’s West End and the grassy parklands of Esplanade Reserve. With the Indian ocean breeze filtering through the Norfolk pines the tone is set for an epic finale. This year the site comes with new and improved areas - more deets coming soon!
