An exciting edition to the 2024 Laneway lineup, Rehekōrero are the 2023 Word – The Front Line Slam Poetry Champions! Rehekōrero is a dynamic and passionate rangatahi Māori spoken word group hailing from Nga Puna o Waiorea. Comprised of talented young individuals Koromiko Jacobs-Williams (Ngati Ranginui), 

Piremina Ngapera (Te Rararawa, Ngapuhi), Billy McCarthy (Nga Puhi) Milan Moala (Waikato Tainui), and all under 18, Rehekōrero is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of their tupuna through the power of spoken word. With a deep connection to their roots, whanau and iwi, Rehekōrero members draw inspiration from the stories, traditions, and struggles of their people. They will be sharing this artform and beautiful display of culture with the Laneway crowd this year in Aotearoa.
