An old soul meet a young mind in Molly Payton. Living between Auckland, where she was born, and London, where her artistry came to fruition, the 21-year-old artist is known for her emotionally cathartic approach to songwriting. Musically, she offers a modern take on the comforting nostalgic sound of warm guitars and haunting vocals that hints at influences like Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley. Following the success of her 2021 mini-album Slack, which included hypnotic hit single ‘Honey’, Molly was tapped on the shoulder to join beabadoobee at her Australasian shows, as well as Tom Odell and Arlo Parks on their respective UK tours. Showing no signs of slowing down, Molly’s latest track ‘bandits’ was released in early 2023 ahead of an appearance at Barcelona’s Primavera Festival and a set of UK shows.
