The weekend that was: Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney Laneway Festivals proclaimed the best so far.
The Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney instalments of the Laneway Festival are done and dusted for another year, and we are pleased to say, were the most successful to date.
Five and a half thousand punters turned out to the Brisbane event on Friday afternoon and were treated to standout performances by newcomers Kid Sam, Hottest 100-toppers Mumford & Sons and the inimitable Dirty Three, amongst others.
The new location of the Melbourne event in Footscray turned out to be a revelation for thousands of music-lovers, who watched the likes of The xx, Hockey, Frightened Rabbit, Dappled Cities and of course, the unstoppable Florence + The Machine against the gorgeous backdrop of the Maribyrong River and surrounds.
The relocation of the Sydney event also proved to be a big hit, as punters took in showstopping performances by The Middle East, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Echo & The Bunnymen (finally!) and many more.
All events were sold out. This weekend's Adelaide show is completely sold out but there are a few remaining tickets to Perth Laneway Festival this Saturday (available from outlets only).
Stay tuned here for reviews and photos - we're posting them up as they come in and there are some fantastic ones!
