Dir: Richard Lowenstein Australia 2009 94 mins

Charting a who's who of Melbourne's underground music scene of 1977 - 1981, including Rowland S. Howard, The Primitive Calculators, Ollie Olsen, Phillip Brophy and many others who proffer their recollections and air their animosities in a tribute to those seminal times. The Crystal Ballroom, the little bands, The Boys Next Door, the drugs, the fashions, the influences, the philosophies, the venues and the legacy of the times are all covered, along with never before seen interviews with Michael Hutchence on the set of the feature film, 'Dogs in Space'.

Dir: Jeff Feuerzeig US 2005 110min

The Devil and Daniel Johnston is a stunning portrait of a musical and artistic genius who nearly slipped away, exquisitely depicting a perfect example of brilliance and madness going hand in hand. As an artist suffering from manic depression with delusions of grandeur, Daniel Johnston's wild fluctuations, numerous downward spirals, and periodic respites are exposed in this deeply moving documentary.

Dir: George Tillman Jr. US 2009 122mins

This is the story of Christopher Wallace who, through raw talent and sheer determination, transforms himself from a Brooklyn street hustler to become one of the greatest rappers of all time, The Notorious B.I.G. Charting his meteoric rise to fame and his refusal to succumb to expectation, Notorious challenges us all to redefine our notion of what makes "The American Dream".
