On the day

Will Pass Outs be available on the day?

There are no Pass Outs on the day so if you choose to leave the Festival at any point, you will not be admitted back in. There will be more than enough food, drinks, amenities and - of course - music to keep going all day inside the Festival.

When do the festival gates open and close?

The gates open at 5.00pm with the last act finishing at 2.00am.

What happens if it rains on the day?

The Festival will go ahead rain, hail or snow...

Will there be ATM facilities at the Festival?

EFTPOS facilities will be available in the Fowler's and Courtyard bars, however we highly recommend coming with enough cash to get you through the day.

Can I bring my own alcohol into the festival?

No. Laneway Festival is licensed to sell food & drinks and provides great, well-stocked bars. All bags are searched on arrival.

Can I go bare foot?

Sorry guys shoe wear is necessary - thongs and sandals are fine but you may want to consider your toes and enclosed footwear as it is a long day.

Where do I report any lost or found articles?

Found:please take any found items to Festival staff.

Lost:if you misplace something please check with gate staff on the day as things will be turned in there. Alternatively, please email info@lanewayfestival.com.au and we will do our very best to help you

What should I bring to the festival? What should I leave at home?

What kind of cameras & recording devices can I bring with me?

No professional cameras (read: cameras with detachable lenses) are permitted without formal media accreditation. Likewise no audio or film recording equipment can be brought into the Festival.

Can I go bare foot?

Are any items prohibited?

✘ Glass ✘ Cans ✘ Skateboards, scooters, rollerblades, bicycles ✘ Milk or bread crates or metal cans or containers ✘ Chairs (folding, portable, camping) or any other furniture ✘ Anything studded or spiked (belts, wristbands, etc) or large chains ✘ Club patches and jackets ✘ Weapons of any kind (including potential missiles) ✘ Fireworks and flares ✘ Alcohol ✘ Drugs ✘ Sound or video recorders or professional cameras (with removable lens)(small still cameras are allowed) ✘ Laser lights or laser pens ✘ Umbrellas (bring a plastic poncho or raincoat instead) ✘ Water pistols ✘ Dogs or other pets (guide dogs excepted) ✘ Eskies ✘ Any other items deemed dangerous or potentially disruptive by Laneway in its discretion

What forms of identification are accepted?

Laneway Festival has to comply with various Australian venue, police and liquor licensing requirements. As an over 18 event, you must produce valid ID to enter.

There are only certain forms of ID that will be accepted by the Laneway Festival:

Acceptable Photo ID – Australian Citizen
1. current Australian Driver’s Licence with photograph
2. current Passport
3. current State issued Proof Of Age Card
4. current Victorian Keypass Card

Acceptable Photo ID – Not an Australian Citizen
1. current Passport

Unacceptable ID
Laneway Festival cannot accept as proof of age:
- overseas driver’s licence
- student ID card
- public transport card or bus pass
- birth certificate
- household bills, bank account statements, letter from your mum or anything else that is not listed as an Acceptable Photo ID above.

Please note if you cannot produce required ID, you will not be granted entry to Laneway Festival. There are no exceptions. Ever.

Can I take water into the festival?

You can only bring water if it’s in a sealed plastic (PET) bottle. No glass or cans will be allowed.

Tickets

Will tickets be available at the gate on the day?

What happens if I lose my ticket?

Tickets cannot be replaced for any reason, so please don't lose them! Treat your ticket like cash!

Is the Festival for over 18s only?

Yes, the Festival is strictly an over 18's event. Anyone who fails to present valid photo ID (current driver’s license or passport) upon entry to the Festival will not be allowed into the Festival. No refunds will be processed for patrons who are denied entry due to not having valid identification for admittance.

St Jerome's Laneway Festival is a fully licensed event so, like many fully licensed venues, we are unable to accommodate people under the age of 18. We apologise to those of you under 18 who miss out as a result of this but we look forward to seeing you in a few years.
